It has been another superb year for sixth formers at the Rochester Math School. The 224 Year 13 students who collected their results enjoyed enormous success.
14.95% of all grades awarded were at A*.
43.89% of all grades awarded were at A* and A level, in line with last year, while 73.37% of all grades secured by these senior students were at A*-B level, also in line with last year.
The average points per subject, a measure of the typical grade per A level, is 42.39, the second highest ever achieved by students at the school, and which equates to a B+ grade.
31 students gained 2 or more A* grades. Remarkably, 57 students (26% of the year group) avoided any grade lower than an A, while 120 students (55% of the year group) avoided any grade lower than a B.
A key benchmark is the proportion of students gaining at least AAB, which stands at 52% of the year group, up from 49% last year. 21% gained this yardstick in two facilitating subjects which is up from 15% last year.
The Russell Group and Oxbridge university hopefuls from the school had particular cause for celebration.
