A total of 47 students from Year 11 and 12 have signed up for the NCS summer programme, which is 36 more than in 2021!
NCS (National Citizen Service) is a 2 week summer programme, which gives 16 to 17 year olds the chance to gain independence, get out the house and stay away from home. The programme takes place over 2 weeks and starts off with a 5 day residential at a venture centre. Next, they will then learn the skills needed for work, further education and independent living by completing various workshops to enhance their skills and increase their self-confidence. Then, students will plan their own project for a cause that’s close to their heart and then action it to help their local communities and really make a difference. Lastly, they will celebrate everything they’ve achieved and receive a signed certificate from the Prime Minister.
We hope our students enjoy this experience and are able to use the skills that they develop to help enhance their future applications.
